Renwick Craft Invitational 2009 – August 7 through January 3, 2010
Check out the latest artist exhibition at the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Art Museum featuring works by Mark Newport, Christyl Boger, SunKoo Yuh, and Mary Van Cline. G-Men and Journalists: Top News Stories of the FBI's First Century – Now through December 31, 2009
This unique exhibit examines the FBI's crime fighting efforts and their role in society and pop culture. It features over 200 artifacts, including the Unabomber's cabin, Patty Hearst's coat and gun and the electric chair that killed the Lindbergh baby kidnapper. Terra Cotta Warriors: Guardians of China's First Emperor – November 19th through March 31st
Don't miss the chance to view the largest collection of artifacts to ever travel from China to the U.S. This exhibit features 15 life-size terra cotta warriors who were created to stand guard over the tomb of China's first emperor, Qin Shihuangdi. Sargent and the Sea – September 12th- January 3rd
View a collection at the Corcoran Gallery of Art of more than 80 paintings from the early career of John Singer Sargent. The paintings and drawings depict coastal scenes and seascapes for which Sargent was famous. The centerpiece for the exhibition is the masterwork "En Route Pour La Peche."
