Capitol Hill Suites Brings Classic Cool and Capitol Convenience to The Hill
Washington, DC, May 27, 2008 – Capitol convenience and classic comfort have returned to Capitol Hill, with the unveiling of the newly renovated Capitol Hill Suites, 200 C Street, SE.
The boutique hotel has undergone a multi-million dollar, head-to-toe makeover. The result is a 95,000 square feet, all-suite upscale boutique hotel in the heart of the Hill neighborhood that combines the classic feel of the Hill and modern comforts travelers expect.
"Capitol Hill Suites has been restored to reflect what a home-away-from-home in Washington should be," said Ian Harvey, general manager. "Chic, comfortable and convenient, Capitol Hill Suites meets the needs of travelers, and aims to exceed the expectations of everyone who walks through its doors."
Whether visiting Washington for business or pleasure, Capitol Hill Suites provides guests with comfortable, home-like accommodations in an unbeatable location. The hotel is located across the street from the Library of Congress, and within two blocks of the U.S Capitol Building, the House and Senate office buildings, and the U.S Supreme Court, among others.
"At Capitol Hill Suites, guests are within walking distance of Washington's most popular and important destinations, but are still nestled inside one of the most historic residential neighborhoods in Washington, with tree-lined streets, neighborhood parks and lots of choices for food, drink and entertainment," said Harvey, general manager.
The hotel, which began as apartments in the 1950s and was converted into a hotel in 1981, has 152 suites in two adjacent five- and six-story buildings. All guest suites feature modern bathrooms, flat screen TVs, DVD players and Internet access. Suites feature a full kitchen, while junior suites offer Pullman kitchenettes.
Warm, relaxing colors fill each guest suite, and plush bedding and inviting furniture make each suite the perfect place to unwind from a long day of business or sightseeing. The suites are 50 percent larger than most standard hotel rooms so there is plenty of space to stretch out.
In addition to its upscale guest suites, Capitol Hill Suites features a fitness center and a convenient breakfast area in the lobby. The hotel offers meeting space for up to 50, with an additional 9,300 square feet of meeting space available one block away.
All of the common spaces of the hotel have been designed to ensure guests are met with chic, soothing colors and textures as soon as they enter the front door.
"Our goal is to provide our guests with the classic cool feeling of Capitol Hill combined with the convenient and comfortable accommodations they expect when they visit Washington," said Harvey. "At Capitol Hill Suites, we invite guests to stay in the heart of the Hill neighborhood, and really do the Hill as it was meant to be done."
