Terra Cotta Warriors: Guardians of China's First Emperor – Now through March 31, 2010
Don't miss the chance to view the largest collection of artifacts to ever travel from China to the U.S. This exhibit features 15 life-size terra cotta warriors who were created to stand guard over the tomb of China's first emperor, Qin Shihuangdi. In celebration of Yousuf Karsh's 100th birthday, the Canadian embassy in Washington, DC, has partnered with the National Gallery of Canada to create this exhibit of 28 artists photographed by Karsh. The subjects are portrayed in unique and playful ways to capture their essence and artistic character. They include photographs of Andy Warhol, Ernest Hemingway, and Christian Dior to name a few.
